Familiengarten Eberswalde
A few days ago, taking advantage of a beautiful weather, I visited Eberswalde and located there – Familiengarten Eberswalde (family garden).
I visited Eberswalde for the first time some time ago while visiting the Eberswalde Zoo and Familiengarten Eberswalde has been on my list for a while now.
This garden is located on the site of the former mill and was prepared for the National Garden Exhibition in 2002. Since then you can spend time there, admiring the wonderful combination of industrial culture and gardening.
To be honest, you can really spend the whole day there – the area is huge – 17 ha – with many attractions.
Even if there are a lot of people visiting, nobody will get in your way because this place is really big :).
There are playgrounds, water playground, picnic and barbecue meadows, you can take a pedal boat ride, play a giant flipper, or slide off the slide installed on the old crane. A list of all attractions (also in English) can be found on this page.
There are many attractions for children, but also adults will be pleased :).
We really enjoyed our visit and we will be back there later this Summer!
How to get from Berlin to Familiengarten Eberswalde?
Fast and easy – by train to Eberswalde, then by bus 861 or 862 (the bus stop is on the viaduct, not like most buses right next to the station) almost to the entrance to the Familiengarten Eberswalde.
